I cannot resist a classic blazer or tweed jacket. I love how "put together" everything looks with one thrown over an outfit. My love of tailored "completer" pieces also helped me appear more mature and professional when I was young and inexperienced in the corporate world. My personal style was one reason I was given similar opportunities to those who had more seniority in my field.
Aside from the fact that a jacket like this one can make you look more professional, one of my favorite things about a tweed jacket (aside from the obvious Chanel vibes) is the versatility. This piece can easily be dressed up for work or down for play. I love this Blue and White Tweed Piece from Alice + Olivia because the frayed hem and slight bell sleeves give some stylish edge to a basic staple.
I love classic pieces--maybe a little too much--I have three tweed jackets in my closet right now. One of them I've had for 7 years and I still wear it all the time. That's one of the benefits of really knowing your style: you know what pieces you will wear into the ground and which garments to skip.
In the looks above, I've styled this Alice + Olivia jacket five different ways. People are often surprised at how much versatility they can get from a colored jacket like this one. Once you have the basics covered, adding colorful, textural jackets can extend the life of the rest of your wardrobe.
